Rail Trail Committee Has Too Many Members; Selectmen Reject 3 Applicants

The committee formed to study the rail trail got so full that three members weren't allowed to volunteer.

SUDBURY, MA — Three members hoping to join the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Design Task Force were rejected by a majority vote by Sudbury Selectmen because the committee member limit is already full.

While selectmen suggested bringing aboard the three applicants as "associate members," four selectmen disagreed, and said it would create a precedent for other committees, reports the MetroWest Daily News.

In September of 2016, the Board of Selectmen officially approved the formation of the task force, which was created to advise the board of the advancement of the design, and to share information gathered from the public.
