Straight Outta Sudbury: Famous Faces from Your Hometown
Dennis "Eck" Eckersley isn't a Sudbury native, but lived here during his pitching days, and still does.

SUDBURY, MA—He was a familiar face on the mound in the '70s for the Boston Red Sox, playing eight of his 24 seasons as a major league baseball player with the Sox.
Dennis "Eck" Eckersley, known as much for his flowing hair and 'stache as his slider, is a Sudbury resident and also lived in the town while playing baseball, according to American Alarm.
Eckersley pitched for the Cleveland Indians, the Red Sox, the Chicago Cubs, the Oakland Athletics and the St. Louis Cardinals during his career. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2004, and now works as a studio analyst for the Sox games on NESN.
