Sudbury Coronavirus Case Count Grows By More Than 40

The Sudbury Board of Health has released weekly figures on people affected by coronavirus showing an estimated 44 new cases.

SUDBURY, MA — The Sudbury Board of Health on Tuesday released new data on coronavirus cases in town. The overall total number of infections and people in quarantine grew to 177, up from 133 measured on April 20.

That total includes 75 test-confirmed coronavirus cases, 57 only diagnosed by a doctor, and 87 people who were exposed to the virus with no symptoms, but placed in quarantine. Of the 177 cases, 72 were active as of April 28 — that means 105 people have either left quarantine or no longer have the virus.

The cases varied across age group, according to the Board of Health:

  • Under 19 — 34
  • 20 to 40 — 42
  • 40 to 60 — 45
  • 60 to 80 — 24
  • Over age 80 — 32

As of Wednesday afternoon, 60,265 people across Massachusetts had tested positive for coronavirus, an increase of 1,963 from Tuesday. Another 252 people died over the past 24 hours, bringing the death total to 3,405 so far.
