Sudbury Housing Authority Seat Open After Resignation

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury officials are seeking a resident to temporarily fill a vacant seat on the Sudbury Housing Authority after a resignation.

The Select Board is accepting applications through noon on June 26 for the seat, according to the Select Board’s Office. Because Housing Authority members are elected, the appointment will be temporary and last until the seat is filled at the next Town Election.

Candidates are encouraged to include a resume with their application. Applicants will be jointly interviewed by the Select Board and Housing Authority on June 30.

Housing Authority members elected at Annual Town Election are sworn in at the conclusion of Annual Town Meeting, according to the town.

The Sudbury Housing Authority owns, maintains and manages 28 scattered-site single-family and duplex rental homes for low-income families, plus 64 apartments at Musketahquid Village for people over 60 and disabled people. Some housing gives preference to residents or workers in Sudbury.

Applicants for housing must meet state income eligibility standards. Rents are 27 percent or 30 percent of income and wait lists are generally open to new applicants, according to the Housing Authority.
