Angels 12, Astros 8-June 7

The Angels and Astros battled through six innings, with the Angels coming out on top in a very hard fought playoff game.  The Angels offense got going early when Max Martin led off with a double, followed by a moonshot homerun off the bat of Teddy Smith. The Angels offense continued to produce when Chris Streillen (3 H, RBI) and Blake Pailler (2 H, 2 RBI) combined for hits to help maintain the lead. The Angels furthered their offensive attack with timely hitting from Jack Urdang and Cole Pathak.  The Angels pitching was solid as Smith, Jack Hallal, Martin and Urdang combined to hold back the strong offensive power of the Astros.  For the Astros, their pitching settled in as Max Stayton and Tim Duffy combined for 3 innings of 2-hit shutout baseball to close out the game. Offensively, Ryan Immerman (H, 2 R), and Duffy, (2 2B’s, 2 RBI) led the way.  Stayton took advantage of the right fielder's gamble of going for a line drive, with an inside the park three run homerun to add as well.
