Town officials are urging residents to prepare for heat-related illness as summer begins and outdoor events become more common. Older adults, young children, pregnant people, outdoor workers and people with chronic health conditions are at higher risk during extreme heat.
Residents should drink water, limit alcohol, avoid heavy activity during the hottest parts of the day, take breaks in the shade or air conditioning and check on people at higher risk.
The Sudbury Board of Health released a Heat-Related Illness Advisory, available here.
