Sudbury Recognized as 'Community Compact Town'
The town manager announced that Sudbury is now considered a 'Community Compact Town." So what does that mean?

SUDBURY, MA — Sudbury is now designated as a "Community Compact Town," Town Manager Melissa Murphy-Rodrigues announced in her most recent manager report.
"We will be partnering with the state to address some best practices and will be eligible for grant funding and technical assistance to help achieve those goals," she wrote. "Lieutenant Governor Polito will be joining the Board of Selectmen to sign the Community Compact Agreement in January."
Governor Charlie Baker established the Community Compact Cabinet in January of 2015 to "strengthen partnerships between the administration and municipalities."

Sudbury now joins towns and cities such as Acton, Worcester, Newburyport and Attleboro in the initiative of which more than 40 community compacts have been signed. Another 125 towns and cities are in the application process.
The compact gives the state's municipalities a chance at much needed improvements through a collaborative.
