Sudbury To Start Mosquito Spraying

If you see spraying trucks, best to stay inside for a few minutes until they're done.

SUDBURY, MA — What's summer without the bugs, right? Sudbury is trying to make your summer strolls as enjoyable as possible with mosquito spraying, to keep the pesky bugs at bay. Spraying starts on Tuesday, July 23.

Spraying will happen near Powder Mill Rd., Powers Rd., Dakin Rd., North Rd., Ford Rd., Mossman Rd., Haynes Rd., Pantry Rd., Morse Rd. and Thompson Dr.

The Project uses a spray formulation that contains the pesticide product, Anvil, to control mosquitoes. Anvil contains the pesticide, sumithrin, which is a pyrethroid that is classified as slightly toxic by the EPA. Mosquito control applications of sumithrin do not pose a significant risk to people or their pets due to the low toxicity of sumithrin and the small amount used to control mosquitoes. As with any pesticide, people should minimize their exposure.
