Sudbury Welcomes New Recreation Director

She was the assistant in Westborough, director in Fitchburg, but now assumes position as the director in Sudbury.

SUDBURY, MA -- Leaving her position director of recreation in Fitchburg, Kayla McNamara has joined the Sudbury team as its newest director of parks and recreation.

McNamara, who also served as assistant director in Westborough, has a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Sport Management and is currently finishing her Graduate certificate in Athletic Administration.

Town manager Melissa Murphy-Rodrigues said that McNamara prides herself on her ability to create and expand programming, partnering with organizations and work collaboratively with staff as well as park and recreation commissioners.

McNamara lives in Fitchburg, and has been involved in sports and recreation her entire life, and continues to coach and play field hockey.

“I’m very excited to welcome Kayla to Sudbury,” Murphy-Rodrigues said in the release. “She brings a great skill set and a lot of energy to the community and I know she’s going to do great things for residents.”
