SUDBURY, MA — Ugly sweaters need not apply.

Sudbury is pioneering a new kind of holiday sweater event, challenging local residents to decorate garments with themes like "most Sudbury," "most edible" and "most retro." The best sweater-creators will receive prizes from local businesses and organizations like Duck Soup and the Goodnow Library Foundation.

"Grab a sweater, add some holiday flair and send us the before and after selfies. That’s it! You’ll be entered to win great prizes from some of Sudbury’s most beloved organizations," the town said in an announcement.
