Sunday Afternoons at the Goodnow Returns!
Popular cultural series kicks off in November.

The Friends of the Goodnow Library announce the return of “Sunday Afternoons at the Goodnow.” The first program will be November 9th at 3:00 p.m., which will feature best-selling author Maryanne O’Hara, who will discuss her novel CASCADE. Selected as the Inaugural Pick for the Boston Globe Book Club, CASCADE weaves a tale of small town limitations vs. big city sparkle, as well as the twists and turns in life that can either make or derail us. What makes the story all the more engrossing is that it’s set against the eerie backdrop of 1930s Cascade, Mass., a town about to be flooded to make way for a reservoir.
The next program happens on November 16 at 3:00 p.m., featuring Wanda Paik, Pianist. Ms. Paik has performed extensively throughout the United States and abroad. She has appeared as soloist with many orchestras in the Boston area including the Boston Pops with Arthur Fiedler and Erich Kunzel, the Boston Classical Orchestra with Harry Ellis Dickson, the Boston Civic Symphony with Max Hobart, the Harvard- Radcliffe Orchestra, the Brookline Symphony, the Wellesley Symphony, the Lincoln- Sudbury Civic Orchestra, and the Sounds of Stow (MA) Orchestra, among others. The program will feature music from a variety of composers and periods, including Chopin, Bach, Debussy and more. Visit the Friends webpage for a detailed program description.
Both events are free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. Goodnow Library is located at 21 Concord Road. For more information, visit goodnowlibrary.org/get-involved/friends-of-the-library.
