The heavy rains we received this summer from Hurricanes Henri and Ida have caused delays in the construction process.   In addition the contractor’s precast bridge supplier has struggled to find skilled labor to construct forms that make the concrete headwalls and wing walls appear as stone masonry as specified on the plans.

This morning I can report the precast supplier has successfully delivered the downstream headwall and wing walls to the site this week and we expect the upstream headwall and wingwalls to be delivered next week.  The contractor is busy this week assembling the precast pieces including the precast arches along with the downstream headwall and wingwalls.

To date the status of bridge opening remains the same.  We expect to open Dutton Road sometime in November.   As construction proceeds into October we will be able to provide a more accurate date for reopening.
