A Big Raccoon and a Busy Skunk
The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police logs. Where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.
Monday, April 15
- At 4:54 a.m., police received a report of what sounded like a gunshot in the area of Kensington and Humphrey. One report.
- At 1:53 p.m., police received a report from a Gale Road resident about a skunk on the property. The skunk had sprayed a dog in the face. Animal control was notified.

- At 1:40 p.m., police charged Emmanuel DeJesus, 29, of 77 Green St., Lynn with shoplifting and malicious destruction of property.
- At 6:17 p.m., a Paradise Road caller reported vandalism to his car.
- At 7:42 p.m., police charged Brandie Pelechowicz, 30, 5 Barnard Hawks Ct., Marblehead with shoplifitng.
Wednesday, April 17
- At 10:06 a.m, police received a report of an abandoned silver Honda without plates, on Littles Point Lane.
- At 1:19 p.m., police received a report of a young male spray-painting signs on Puritan Road. The youth was wearing a purple hat.
- At 8:26 p.m., police and fire responded to a call from a woman on Burpee Road who said her roommate had made suicidal comments earlier. The caller said she returned home and found her roommate unreponsive but breathing.
- At 8:43 p.m., police met a caller on Humphrey Street regarding threats made by another person. The caller, in a pick-up truck, said the suspect traveling with a bicycle, a man in his 40s, threatened to kill him. The suspect was located in Marblehead and questioned.

- At 9:31 a.m., an Essex St. resident reported a breaking and entering to a motor vehicle.
- At 11:39 a.m., a Burpee Road caller reported a suspicious male, over 50, short and weathered looking who was smoking and appeared to be watching children in the playground area. Police checked the area, including the woods, but were unable to locate the person.
- At 2:42 p.m., police charged Jarod Dennis, 32, 32 Fays Ave., Lynn, with assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
- At 7:03 p.m., a caller by Tony Lena's, on Cherry Street, reported that she was trapped in her motor vehicle, afraid to get out because of a large raccoon. Police serviced the call.
