Amy Adams and Christian Bale Movie Shoots Monday in Swampscott

Get ready for a retro look to hit Humphrey Street as Hollywood comes to town again.

Prepare for a blast from the past.

The 1970s will descend on Hawthorne by the Sea on Humphrey Street Monday.

That's when the yet-to-be titled David O. Russell movie about the Abscam scandal comes to town for filming.

Get ready to see a good deal of 1970s vintage cars around town, Town Administrator Tom Younger said at Wednesday's selectmen's meeting.

Better be looking early, though.

The filming will be done by noon, the town administrator said.

Downtown businesses know about the shoot at 153 Humphrey, and are happy with it, Younger said. Police, Fire and DPW know about it.

Movie people will be using Phillips Park to park cars, and paying the town for the use, the town administrator said.

The problem will be keeping kids in school Monday, said Jill Sullivan.

Local stargazers will apparently not set their eyes on Jennifer Lawrence. Younger said he has learned that she has completed her filming and left town.

But that still leaves the possibility of catching a glimpse of Amy Adams, Christian Bale or other stars.

Look for polyester clothes, long hair and cars with big engines. Maybe a Z-28, a Gremlin or a Datsun 240Z.

The movie has filmed at Massachusetts sets including those in Natick, Boston and Lynn.

The film is about the 1970s Abscam scandal, an FBI sting operation. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Jeremy Renner.

Bale is no stranger to Massachusetts film shoots. He co-starred in The Fighter, a movie based on Lowell boxer Mickey Ward.

Swampscott has seen lots of Hollywood in recent years.

This will be third year in a row that a major Hollywood production has come to town.

First, in 2011, the movie Ted filmed a major scene at an Atlantic Avenue home.

Then the summer of 2012 was much ado about Grown Ups 2.

And now 2013's Abscam makes Swampscott three for three.
