An OUI and a Fight

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Monday, July 1

  • At 8:10 a.m., police received a report of an unattended backpack on Humphrey Street. The backpack had musical equipment in it and police brought it to the police station for safekeeping.
  • At 12:18 p.m., a female on Longwood Drive reported receiving threatening text messages from her ex-boyfriend.
  • At 2:44 p.m., a Duncan Terrace caller reported that someone may be trying to gain access to her house when she is not there.
  • At 7:48 p.m., police charged Michael Arias, 25, 378 Summer St., Lynn with possession of drugs, marijuana, with the intent to distribute.

Tuesday, July 2

  • At 3:03 a.m., police responded to a report of loud music at an Essex Street apartment. The tenants were advised of the complaint and they turned down the music.
  • At 10:06 a.m., a Stetson Avenue woman came to the station and reported that her purse had been stolen from her motor vehicle.
  • At 3 p.m., a caller reported that a motor vehicle had made contact with him as he was crossing the street at Burrill Street and Essex Street.
  • At 3:25 p.m., police arrested Marc Canney, 46, of 34 Rockaway St., Lynn with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
  • At 7:10 p.m., a report came in of a fire hydrant down on Greenwood Avenue near Forest Avenue.

  • At 5:45 a.m., police charged Michael Faiella, 71, 30 Portland St., Lynn with OUI, liquor, third offense.
  • At 9:51 a.m., a walk-in to the police station reported that his former landlord would not return some of his belongings. Arrangements were made for the former tenant to pick up his belongings at the Humphrey Street property.
  • At 10:47 a.m., a baby carriage was found on the grounds of the Tedesco golf course.
  • At 11:51 a.m., a mail carrier reported she was almost run over by a gray KIA near Town Hall.
  • At 10:21 a.m., a Blaney Road resident reported a missing 12-year-old child. The child later returned home.
  • At 10:56 p.m., five males were reportedly fighting in the park across from Red Rock Bistro.
