The kids will likely be the last group of children — or one of the last groups — to visit the Burrill Street police station.
The department will soon move to a new station on Humphrey Street.
The officers will remember the Clarke kids' visit.
"It was nice that the kids took the time to do this for us," said Lt. Bartram. "We all felt appreciated, and there is nothing better than seeing the kids happy and smiling."
On Friday the children made the rounds, dropping by the fire station, next door, and eating lunch on the Town Hall lawn.
Swampscott fire Captain Graham Archer said it was a pleasant surprise to see the kids.
The department gave them a quick tour and lifted a few teachers in the ladder truck bucket, the captain said.
The kids got a kick out of seeing their teachers lifted high in the bucket.
