Gov. Baker Addresses Swampscott Class of 2015
Gov. Charlie Baker took to the podium Sunday for Swampscott High School's 2015 graduation ceremony.

Swampscott’s hometown governor and proud dad addressed the Class of 2015 Sunday during Swampscott High School’s graduation ceremony.
He told the seniors to make good choices, try new things and be positive, according to The Salem News.

“You’ve heard them all before,” Baker said. “We know they aren’t original, but they are what I call simple truths.”
In his own Twitter feed, the governor, a longtime resident of Swampscott and former selectman in the town, said he was “honored” to speak at the graduation ceremony and it was “a great day with a great group of people.”

Baker’s daughter, Caroline, was among the 2015 graduating class, and the governor agreed on Twitter that his “proudest title is Dad.”
It’s a title, in fact, that trumped his political one during Baker’s introduction at the graduation ceremony.
Baker’s Deputy Press Secretary Mark Steffen tweeted that the governor was introduced as “our neighbor and Caroline Baker’s dad.”
