Help Make Swampscott's Vacant Buildings Useful
A rec center? A skating rink? A meeting space? What are your ideas?

Swampscott is suffering from glut of empty buildings, and it’s time to make them useful again.
The town is seeking residents’ input on what to do with four buildings that are currently sitting vacant: The Burrill Street Police Station, the Machon School, The Burrill Street Senior Center and the Greenwood Avenue School.
Should the buildings be sold, leased or owned by the town? What sill each building become and who should be using it?

These and other questions are exactly what the town is inviting residents to brainstorm and then present those ideas during a meeting on Jan. 28 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. in the Swampscott High School cafeteria.
