Important Deadlines, Info for Swampscott Election, Town Meeting
There is a deadline coming up next week.

Campaign and election season is in full swing in Swampscott.
Already, Patch has received a few letters to the editor related to the April 24 local election (you can submit your letter to swampscott@patch.com).
If you’re still considering jumping into the race, there’s time; but it’s running out. Check out these important dates as posted on the Town of Swampscott website.

- Deadline to obtain nomination papers from the town clerk’s office: 5 p.m. on Friday, March 6.
- Deadline to return completed nomination papers to the town clerk’s office for certification to appear on the ballot: 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10.
- Deadline for incumbent Town Meeting members to inform the town clerk, in writing, of their intention to seek re-election: 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10.
- Deadline to file withdrawals or objections to all nomination papers: 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 26.
- Deadline to register to vote: 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8.
These deadlines are all leading up to the big voting events in Swampscott this spring:
- Local Election: Tuesday, April 28
- Annual Town Meeting: Monday, May 4
