'Large Amount Of Items' Stolen From Grocery Store

At 4:43 p.m., Stop and Shop reported theft of a “large amount of items.” The suspect was described as a black male who got into a commercial van and headed toward Essex Street.

At 7:31 p.m., a short man with a beard and wearing a black hoodie was reported to have shoplifted from the Swampscott Mall.

Tuesday, Jan. 20

At 1:07 a.m., a caller reported hearing an animal crying continuously for about 10 minutes.
