Police Log: Business Reports Receiving Possible National Grid Scam Phone Call

Thursday, Dec. 11

At 7:37 a.m., a Gooseneck Lane resident asked police to talk to a 13-year-old refusing to go to school.

At 12:21 p.m., a Humphrey Street business reported receiving a potential scam call in which a person said the business owed National Grid money and the company was going to turn off power.

At 1:04 p.m., a Stop & Shop employee reported a shoplifting.

At 1:29 p.m., an Ocean Avenue resident reported that his dog was bitten by another dog. Police notified the Board of Health.

At 3:05 p.m., a Cherry Street resident reported someone stealing packages from porches..

Friday, Dec. 12

At 12:09 a.m., an Eastman Avenue resident reported a possible prowler. The person was on the woman’s back deck. Police found an intoxicated person and placed the person into protective custody.

At 3:22 a.m., police received a call about water pouring out of a Paradise Road residence. An officer checked the area and found the water was coming from a sump pump.

At 6:22 a.m., a Phillips Avenue resident reported a large raccoon was keeping him from getting to his car. The man was concerned the animal may be sick. The racoon left before police arrived.

At 7:09 p.m., a person reported being threatened by another customer at Stop & Shop.
