Swampscott police will add new layers of security to the town's fireworks show with Lynn on July 3, at King's Beach, said Swampscott police Capt. John Alex.
The added security was prompted by the Boston Marathon bombings.
There will be undercover police officers in the crowd, and officers will restrict more parking.

No Parking will be allowed on both sides of Humphrey St from the Red Rock Bistro to the Lynn line from 5pm until 11pm. These areas will be clearly marked the day before the fireworks, the captain said.
Humphrey Street will be closed from Redington Street to Lynn Shore Drive beginning at 730pm until approximately 11pm.

Police would also like to discourage people from bringing backpacks and or coolers into this area, police said.
Finally, we would also like to remind people that the consumption of alcohol in this area is prohibited and will be strictly enforced, police said.
