Resident Reports Alarming Phone Call

The following information was submitted by the Swampscott Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Swampscott Police Department's log:

Saturday, June 15:

  • At 7:46 p.m., a caller reported vandalism to a motor vehicle on Phillips Avenue.
  • At 8:07 p.m., EMS transported a semi-conscious elderly person from Gale Road to Salem Hospital.
  • At 9:12 p.m., an Essex Road caller reported a utility pole was still leaning towards the roadway.
  • At 10:51 p.m., a caller reported to police that someone had called and said she was being raped. A male then snatched the phone and hung it up, the caller said. There was no caller ID nor did the person know where the call came from. Police are investigating.

  • At 11 a.m., police received a call reporting a disabled vehicle in the roadway at Burrill Street and Essex Street.
  • At 11:38 a.m., police received a report that a couple was fighting while walking and carrying a child on Paradise Road. The woman reportedly hit the man and ripped off his shirt. A verbal argument took place, police stated. A report is due on the situation.
  • At 1:37 p.m., a woman cut her hand and it wouldn't stop bleeding. She was at the Swampscott Mall and refused treatment.
  • At 2:41 p.m., in response to a possible case of larceny of medication, police were searching for a green van with possibly two men and three women in it in the area of Eastern Bank on Paradise Road.
  • At 3:42 p.m., a minor motor vehicle accident was reported in the train station parking lot.
  • At 5:22 p.m., an elderly woman fell at a Robin Lane residence and was transported to the hospital.
  • At 9:12 p.m., police received a report of kids lighting fireworks in the street at Middlesex Avenue and Norfolk Avenue. The parties will stop doing this.
