Reward Offered After Coyote Caught In Illegal Swampscott Trap
The young coyote had to be euthanized after its jaw was crushed in the trap.
SWAMPSCOTT, MA — Swampscott Animal Control is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest after a young coyote was caught in a metal trap and later had to be euthanized.
Swampscott Animal Control Officer David Proulx told WHDH-TV: "It just broke my heart to see the trap had its mouth shut — it couldn't eat or drink."
Proulx determined the coyote, which was about 6 months old, was caught in the racoon trap for about a week near the Tedesco Country Club and Swampscott Middle School, and that its jaw was broken.
