Shelton Road Hosts Multiple Movie Sets in Swampscott
By 10 pm the patient set watchers got a look at Kevin James and their photo taken with Nick Swardson. Filming continues today about mid-morning on Shelton.
By 10 pm Thursday some of the night hawks watching the set on Shelton Road got a look at Kevin James and their pictures taken with Nick Swardson.
Recent Swampscott High graduate Justin Perry and friends were standing by the intersection of Beverly Road for about 30 minutes when James stepped out of his ride and acknowledged crowd members yelling his name.

He waved on his way to the front door for filming a scene inside the house. It was lit up as bright as day.
Swampscott High senior Lauren Morse was rewarded for her wait by the always friendly Nick Swardson, a veteran of Adam Sander films and the television comedy Reno 911.

Lauren posed for a picture with the actor. He was the second Grown Ups 2 actor she has had her photo taken with, the first being Peter Dante at the Swampscptt Middle School.
Sure it's exciting to see actors and a movie being made in their hometown, Lauren and Justin said.
Justin counts himself as a fan of King of Queens actor Kevin James, who performed in the first Grown Ups movie.
About 10 people among the two or three dozen of onlookers around the set were from neighborhood, sitting on grass inside the yellow caution tape.
Set crew members looked to outnumber onlookers.
Ten hours earlier on Thursday, at about noon, Jarrett Bridge surveyed the street with his 16-month-old son Tyler in his arms.
Trucks rolled slowly along Shelton, easing to the curb where workers unloaded lights, electronics and props.
Jarrett and his family live about halfway between the two of the Grown Ups 2 movie sets on Shelton.
That would be down the street from Kevin James' parents house and up the street from the Chris Rock house.
Jarrett was awaiting "chaos" to erupt later with interior shooting Thursday night and Friday on Shelton.
It would be a good chaos, an excitement, a unique experience of having Hollywood sets and stars in his neighborhood of single-family homes, he figured.
Plus several neighbors are earning pay days renting space in their homes or their garages, he said.
In addition the neighborhood gets to share a common experience, a spotlight moment they will likely carry with them for many years.
"How often are you going to be in the heart of something that will be seen by millions of people," he said.
About noon, many neighbors were at the end of their driveways or walking.
They chatted about actors they have seen in town. The comedy is a sequel to the day-in-the-life Grown Ups movie that reunited boyhood friends for the funeral of their basketball coach.
It stars Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek and David Spade.
Shelton Road resident Julie Hoskins was star watching early Thursday. She lives near the James' house and was hoping to see Adam Sandler.
About 12:15 pm she was walking to a friend's house and the two of them were going to look for Sandler.
Last week at Swampscott Middle school she got meet to Alexander Ludwig, a Grown Ups 2 actor whose popularity arose from the movie Hunger Games.
Filming on Shelton was expected to continue Friday morning.
