Soldiers Thank Clarke Kids

Deployed military men and women received a Veterans Day treat courtesy of Clarke School kids.

Here is a thank you from Clarke School parent Patrick Burke, a US Air Force chief master sergeant deployed overseas.

The sergeant and fellow military members at his deployment are grateful for the needed items that Clarke School students collected and sent to the military men and women.

"I knew the packages were coming but was caught off guard by the amount of stuff that arrived. As you can see in the pictures, I shared with the folks in my immediate section. They were all amazed with what the kids had done. After the folks in my flight got what they needed, we loaded up a truck and made some deliveries at other sections. The reaction was the same " wow", "who gave all this great stuff"....I kept saying the 4th Grader Leaders and explained how they organized and got the much needed supplies delivered.  Universally they said, " those are some 4th Graders you have in Swampscott" (after questioning if Swampscott was a real place).

The last stop was the Chapel ... in the deployed environment, the Chapel is the place to go for supplies. I knew the Chaplin would apprentice the supplies as he gets folks coming in 24/7 looking for much needed items. Our base is a transit point so thousands of troops (Airman, Sailors, Marines, Soldiers all use it) lots of folks stumble into the Chapel tired, hungry ... and now, because of the 4th Grade Leaders and the Clarke Family, their days will be that much better.

Please accept my heart felt thanks and let everyone know they made a huge, positive impact on the men and women over here. I look forward to coming home and thanking them in person!"
