Swampscott Capital Requests Top $2.5 Million
The Capital Improvement Committee must review the requests before presenting a recommendation to the Finance Committee.

Six Swampscott departments have come forward with fiscal year 2016 capital requests totaling more than $2.5 million.
According to ItemLive.com, the requests come from the public works, police, fire, planning, library and school departments, but do not include a $1.6-million request for an artificial turf field. That request will be handled as a standalone warrant article at this year’s Annual Town Meeting.
The requests include familiar items such as seawall repair, but also include improvements at a couple of Swampscott’s schools.
