Swampscott Fire Department Digitizing Historical Photos

The department wants to record its history through the photographs of fire response in the past.

The Swampscott Fire Department has embarked on a project to preserve the visual fire history of the town.

So far, Fire Chief Kevin Breen and Capt. Kevin Thompson have hundreds of photos documenting everything from the 1956 train crash that killed 13 to the New Ocean House resort hotel fire in 1969, according to an article on ItemLive.com.
