Swampscott Historical Commission Receives $10,000 Grant

The money will be used to hire a preservation consultant to look at buildings along the Humphrey Street corridor and Little's Point.

The Swampscott Historical Commission announced recently that it has been awarded a $10,000 matching grant from the Massachusetts Historical Commission.

The money, along with $5,000 approved by voters at the 2014 Town Meeting and a $5,000 donation from the “Grown-Ups 2” production company, funds a Survey and Planning Grant the local commission had submitted, according to a post on the commission’s Facebook page.

The grant dollars will support the hiring of a professional preservation consultant “to continue the program of identification and evaluation of buildings along the Humphrey Street corridor and Little’s Point.”
