Swampscott Police Arrest Man Charged With Threatening Murder

The Lynn man was stopped in Swampscott and turned over to Salem police.

A Lynn man accused of threatening to kill a woman with a firearm Monday night was arrested on Loring Avenue in Swampscott and turned over to Salem police.

Miguel A. Baez, 22, of 3 Milton St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon (firearm) and two counts of threatening to commit a crime (murder).

At 9:14 p.m., police responded to a report of a man threatening others with a firearm at 54 Perkins St. in Salem.

After a be-on-the-look-out alert was sent out to surrounding police departments, Salem State University police officers and Swampscott police reportedly stopped a gray 2005 Nissan Altima on Loring Avenue.

Baez was placed under arrest without incident and no weapon was found during the traffic stop, Salem Lt. Scott Englehardt said Tuesday night.
