Swampscott Residents Invited to Reception for New Governor

Massachusetts' newest governor, Charlie Baker, is a Swampscott resident

The Town of Swampscott and the board of selectmen are inviting residents to a reception in honor of Charlie Baker, the state’s newly inaugurated governor.

Baker and his family reside in Swampscott where their Monument Avenue home became the governor’s mansion as of his noon inauguration.

According to a post on the town website, the congratulatory reception for Baker will take place Sunday, Jan. 11 from 12:30 p.m.-2 p.m. at Swampscott Town Hall.

“This will give our community an opportunity to congratulate Gov. Baker on his accomplishment as well as give him an opportunity to thank those in attendance for their recognition of him,” the announcement reads.

The reception is free and open to the public.
