Democrats and Republicans put away their political leanings Sunday and united around a common love of their town and pride in the hometown governor.
More than 350 well-wishers attended a meet-and-greet for Charlie Baker, the newly inaugurated governor and longtime Swampscott resident, on Sunday at town hall, according to a Boston Globe article.

Baker and his wife, Lauren, hugged neighbors and friends who braved the cold to shake their hands.
“Skip the politics,” Baker told the attendees. “This is a wonderful town. It’s filled with beautiful, generous community-minded people who take care of and look after each other.”
