Together, the choruses will perform “Ain’a That Good News”, a traditional Gospel song by William Dawson.
Together in Harmony is a unique collaboration. Each year the three directors, Lianne Goodwin of Salem, Amanda Roeder of Marblehead, and James Pearse of Swampscott, plan the year’s event, working with a committee of dedicated parent volunteers from all three towns.
To encourage community spirit, all students arrive early to rehearse and enjoy a brunch together, coordinated by parents with food donated by local businesses. The proceeds of the event, generated from ticket and concession sales, benefit the choral programs of the three high schools.
The first Together in Harmony concert, featuring Salem and Swampscott High School choruses, was held in 2002 at Temple Israel in Swampscott. Marblehead joined in 2003.
