Wayward Scooters Endanger Pedestrian

The following information came from the Swampscott Police Department. Where charges are listed, they do not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, July 9

  • At 9:07 a.m., police received a report of a barking, howling dog on Aycliff Road. The caller believes the dog is in distress.
  • At 9:07 a.m., a walk-in to the station reported lawn ornaments were damaged or stolen on Burrill Street on July 7.
  • At 12:54 p.m., police received reports of vehicles parking too long in front of businesses on Humphrey Street. Two vehicles were tagged.
  • At 2:12 p.m., a caller reported that she was almost run over by two scooters in the parking lot near Marshalls.
  • At 7:24 p.m., a Burrill Street caller reported fraudulent charges on a bank card.
  • At 9:05 p.m., a Galloupes Point Road caller reported seeing a motor vehicle’s headlights turned off and a white Toyota 4-runner pulled down the driveway of an abandoned property.
  • At 9:14 p.m., a Puritan Road tenant said she thinks her property is being stolen by her landlord.
  • At 9:25 p.m., a sudden death of a patient was reported at 565 Humphrey St., floor 3. A medical examiner was requested.
