Week in Review

From criminal cases to selectmen votes to singing groups, it was a busy week for Swampscott news. 

Here is a recap of five stories you may have missed out on:

1.- At a selectmen meeting on Tuesday evening, there was an unanimous vote by the Board of Health to approve a limit on the amount of garbage bags can be thrown out. For every extra bag residents will need to pay a $2 fee. 

2. - In addition to the vote on garbage disposal, selectmen voted to join a lawsuit against the Commonwealth of Massachusetts because of the allocation of school funds. The story details the vote and other measures taken, like extending the license for a hot-dog vendor on Phillips Beach and, the conservation effort of a large waterfront property. 

3. - On Wednesday's Passport exclusive, we visited the Esthetics Day Spa. The story details Melissa Bagley's spa from a small room she first rented to today, with the business's presence in the entire building. 

4. - A new A Capella group performed for the first time, singing and dancing before the summer movie night on Wednesday evening. 

5. - The story follows Thomas Healey's court date on Wednesday morning. His court date has been continued to September 22. Healey allegedley broke into a home in search of prescription drugs.
