What Do You Know About Social Security?

Pre-Retirement seminar at Swampscott Public Library gives tips on getting the most out of your social security.

If you retired tomorrow, how much could you earn from Social Security? It’s an important question most of us can’t answer.

For people approaching retirement in the Swampscott area, a Pre-Retirement Seminar at the Swampscott Public Library is available to answer any questions about retirement benefits and Social Security.

The seminar will be held Jan. 12 starting at 2 p.m.

Metropolitan Public Affairs Specialist Sabrina Jannuzzi will conduct the seminar, which is expected to last an hour. She will discuss how to apply for retirement, dealing with a disability, having spouse and Medicare benefits. Jannuzzi will also answer participants’ questions.

You can call the library at 781-596-8867 to reserve a seat.

Before attending the seminar, Jannuzzi suggests you visit the Social Security website and look at your earnings statement. Your statement can be found under the Social Security program and benefit estimates.
