TEWKSBURY, MA — Lindsay Clancy, a Duxbury mother accused of killing her three children in 2023, is due in court Thursday as prosecutors are asking to admit graphic evidence for her upcoming trial, according to WCVB 5-ABC.
The evidence prosecutors want to admit includes autopsy photos, which are intended to show a complete picture of the incident as well as cause and manner of death. Prosecutors also want to play a 911 call that Clancy's husband made when he returned home, according to NBC 10 Boston.
Clancy, 35, has been charged on three counts each of murder and strangulation in the deaths of her 7-month-old son, Callan; 3-year-old son, Dawson, and 5-year-old daughter, Cora. She has pleaded not guilty.
On the night of the killings, Clancy also attempted to take her own life, according to authorities and her lawyer. She then became a paraplegic due to her injuries.
She is currently being held at Tewksbury State Hospital.
Clancy is expected to attend the hearing Thursday afternoon at Plymouth Superior Court in person, according to NBC 10 Boston. Most of her previous court appearances have been by video conference.
The defense is planning to argue a lack of criminal responsibility, previously known as the insanity defense, according to WCVB 5-ABC. The defense says that Clancy was being overmedicated for postpartum depression.
Her trial is set to begin July 20.
