A Wise Owl Visits the Dewing School

Wingmasters Birds of Prey presents their fascinating avian program for students.

First graders at the Loella F. Dewing School were able to see three owls, a falcon, and a red-tailed hawk up close last week as Wingmasters presented their popular program "Birds of Prey". The presenters focus on raising awareness of these North American birds of prey. Through raptor rehabilitation, these birds are able to be returned to the wild if they become injured somehow. Raptors are hunting birds with sharp talons and hooked beaks. The program focused on habitat, habit, features of the birds, and what students can do to be good stewards should they find an injured bird. This program was funded through the Dewing PAC. www.wingmasters.net  The Dewing mascot is the Owl which was fitting.
