Candidates' Moves Signal Busy Election Season In Tewksbury

Fourteen candidates have taken nomination papers, signaling the plan to run in the April 6 town election.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- There could be at least a three-way race for the two seats up for reelection in the April 6 town election. In addition to incumbents Todd R. Johnson and Anne Marie Stronac, Jayne Wellman Miller has taken out nomination papers from the town clerk's office. Candidates have until the close of business on February 19 to return the papers with 50 signatures from registered Tewksbury voters to have their name included on the ballot.

There is also a potential contested race coming together for school committee. Current members Arati "Arthy" S. Bennett and Kristen M. Polimeno have said they are not running for reelection, and already two candidates -- Erin Knyff and John Stadtman -- have taken out nomination papers.

On the board of health, Anthony M. Boschetti and George H. Ferdinand are up for reelection and have taken out nomination papers. Potential challengers Kylee Perrotta and Maria Zaroulis have also withdrawn papers.
