Tewksbury Police Charge Three In Alleged Doughnut-Chucking Case

The customer who claimed employees at a Tewksbury Dunkin Donuts threw food at her and punched her daughter was charged as well.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Police have charged two former employees and a customer of the Dunkin' Donuts at 381 Main Street with assault and battery following an argument on January 21. Tewksbury Police said they reviewed several videos of the confrontation and, while they found no evidence a physical assault, they were able to file charges based on statements to police.

Last month Sharon Bimbo, 34, of Lawrence, went to local media outlets with a cell phone video showing part of the argument. Bimbo claimed that Krysalis Maldonado, 26, and Steph Rodriguez, 28, asked her to leave the story when she returned to complain about a wrong order with her daughter and her daughter's therapy dog. Bimbo claimed that Maldonado and Rodriguez threw a box of doughnuts at her and punched her daughter, and that they were both hospitalized with cuts and bruises.

But Maldonado and Rodriguez, who are married and were both fired after the incident, say Bimbo made disparaging comments about their sexuality. "She came into the store, completely attacked us physically and verbally, and we lost everything," Maldonado told the Lowell Sun, which first reported this story.

It's not the first time Bimbo has faced charges. In July 2014, Haverhill Police arrested her on charges of indecent exposure three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to police logs.
