Charles Roux, Candidate for Board of Health

Vote Charlie Roux Board of Health.

Charlie is a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, a graduate of TMHS and UMass Amherst. He has extensive experience in both public and private sectors including:

• Massachusetts Dept. of Environmental Protection/Inspector
• Town of Wilmington-Community Dev. Title 5 Consultant
• Local business owner experienced in water & sewer construction
• He brings a unique perspective to one of the Town’s biggest infrastructure investments, the Municipal Sewer Program. He will work hard to save taxpayer dollars by:
• Evaluating commercial uses of the system and establish pre-treatment guidelines
• Develop & enforce proper maintenance requirements to reduce costly backups

Charlie will also promote responsible residential use of the sewer system, including the proper disposal of hazardous household materials as well as expired prescription medication that could show up in our water supply. Remember, our dinking water intake line is less than 1 mile downstream from the sewer treatment plant on the Merrimack River.

Charlie will also work to develop plans with input from other town boards to:

• Re-establish hazardous waste days
• Heighten awareness of water conservation concepts
• Eliminate permitting costs for seniors and low income families connecting to sewer
• Simplify the sewer conversion process to a more customer friendly experience
• Institute proactive policies to assist our Health Dept. work with limited resources
