Chess Wizards Launches Camp At Tewksbury Public Library

The town has a new partnership with Chess Wizards, which will bring a youth chess summer camp to the library this summer.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Through the Town of Tewksbury, Chess Wizards will bring youth chess lessons, exciting tournaments, and fun team activities to the Tewksbury Public Library, located at 300 Chandler Street, Tewksbury, August 19-23. Both half-day and full-day options are available.

Chess Wizards will offer a safe, fun, and friendly environment for kids grades K-5 to learn how to play and compete in chess. Their mission is to inspire lifelong learning, both on and off the chess board as well as build relationships and communities connected through the game of chess. Kids will experience an interactive curriculum for beginners all the way up to experienced chess players. There will be a weeklong summer chess camp from August 19 through August 23, offered at half-day and full-day increments.

Registration links are hosted on the newly launched “Recreation Resources” page on the Town website under the Chess Wizards subpage at www.tewksbury-ma.gov/recreation. The registration link will redirect to the Chess Wizard’s online portal and requires creating a login. The registration link may be accessed via www.tewksbury-ma.gov/chesswizards. Those interested can also go directly to www.chesswizards.com and search “Tewksbury” programming.
