ICYMI: Goat on the Loose in Tewksbury, Twitter Battle Ensues with Legendary 'Lowell Goat'

"He is just mad he is old goat news," tweets the Tewksbury Goat.

TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury Police reported Sunday that they have received multiple calls regarding a goat on the loose in the area of Main Street near the power lines.

The owner of the goat is currently unknown. Police aware of the situation.

Since the word of a goat on the loose broke in Tewksbury Sunday afternoon, memories of the legendary Lowell Goat began re-surfacing.

The Lowell Goat had area police and animal control officers searching for nearly a month until it was captured in Westford in January. A twitter account was even created for Lowell Goat, which tweeted updates on the goat's escapades to nearly 1,300 followers.

An account was also created for the Tewksbury goat, who is still developing his social media following.

The Lowell Goat was not enthused, and a Twitter beef ensued between the two "goats," much to the pleasure of area residents.
