No Full Day Kindergarten in Tewksbury

Superintendent made announcement based on budgetary concerns.

Citing budget concerns, plans to develop a free full day kindergarten program for Tewksbury students is no more.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. John O’Connor made the announcement at last week’s School Committee meeting, citing the cost of implementing and running the program, the Tewksbury Town Crier is reporting.

In December, a proposal to develop a full day kindergarten program was brought before the school committee before asking residents for their feedback. An online survey seeking resident feedback was open to residents through Jan. 9.
