Plans For Old Police Station Still Unclear
Plans for the old police station are still unclear, according to multiple town administrators.

The at 935 Main Street is up for sale, but Town Manager Richard Montuori said so far there hasn't been an attempt to market the property or to sell it.
The property originally belonged to the Commonwealth. State Sen. Barry Finegold D-Andover, who was then a state representative was instrumental in getting the state to accept an agreement that if the property is sold, Tewksbury only has to pay them 50 percent of the amount it sells for.
"Actually we haven't really done much to sell it or come up with other ideas," Montuori said. "We're just focused on other things."

According to David Gay, clerk of the Community Preservation Committee, an idea was briefly discussed about what to do with the property. The discussion was about the committee putting up the money to renovate the property so it won't be such an eyesore, Gay said.
The topic will be further explored at the next Community Preservation Committee, he said. Meanwhile, Montuori said he wants to sit down with department heads to discuss what other things can be done.
