Random Acts of Kindness Program

The Self-Defense Institute's 2015 Character Development Program Successful

Press Release: The goal of this year’s character development program sponsored by The Self-Defense Institute and TSDI Enrichment Programs, Inc., a 501(c)3 public charity, was to find ways for students from The Self-Defense Institute, along with their families, neighbors and friends to turn ideas of respect and kindness into ”Random Acts of Kindness”.

“Random Act of Kindness“ for this program was defined as a kind, respectful or considerate act performed without any expectation of recognition or reward. Some acts submitted included: “opened/held a door for someone, shoveled a neighbor‘s snowy driveway, sent a note telling someone how much they were appreciated, put a basket of fruit on the doorstep of someone who’s car wasn’t shoveled out yet, encouraged a friend before a test, talked with a friend who was sad because her dog passed away, etc.” These are just a few random acts of kindness submitted.

“Congratulations to all students from The Self-Defense Institute for their outstanding endless ideas and actions. It was an amazing program and we look forward to running it again next year!” said Shihan Deb.
