Tewksbury Investigation Enters Second Day
Investigators continued excavation work for a second day on the grounds of Tewksbury State Hospital Tuesday.

TEWKSBURY, MA -- Investigators were once again using excavation equipment on the grounds of Tewksbury State Hospital Tuesday. On Monday, a spokeswoman for the Middlesex District Attorney's office confirmed that the investigation was taking place and "was not related to a recent event." But so far authorities have declined to offer additional details.
In addition to the backhoes working in the area, WCVB News said a police dog was brought to search a hole dug by a backhoe around 2 pm Monday afternoon.
Earlier this month, State Police detectives assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney's office conducted an extensive search on the property of Tewksbury State Hospital. While officials confirmed that the search, which included police dogs, took place, they would not offer any other details.
