The second floor will be closed from Jan. 8-18, though library staff members can retrieve materials after 3 p.m. on most days.

TEWKSBURY, MA — The Tewksbury Public Library on Tuesday announced details of its upcoming second-floor carpet installation work, which will necessitate some temporary closures and procedure changes within the library.
The project is scheduled to place from Jan. 8-18 and is considered the second phase of the library's carpeting project.
This phase of the project will feature new carpeting being installed throughout publicly accessible areas on the second floor, including: study rooms, the Local History Room and public computer and study areas.

As a result of this scheduled work, the library's second floor will be closed from Jan. 8-18.
That means computers, printing, photocopying, faxing and scanning services located on the second floor will not be available during this time period. The study rooms also will be closed.
The library pointed out that computers, printing and photocopying services will remain available on the first floor.
During project-working hours, library items on the second floor will not be available to patrons or staff. This, the library said, includes adult fiction, paperback and non-fiction collections.
However, after 3 p.m. on Jan. 9-18, staff members will be permitted to retrieve library materials from these closed areas.
According to the library, updates during the carpet installation process will be available on the library's website. Other questions about the project can be directed to Library Director Diane Giarrusso at 978-640-4490.
