Can't attend Crafternoon??? Try CrafterDARK, a monthly crafting date after work! Calling all knitters, crocheters, needle workers, beaders, and colorists! Bring your own craft project to the Library and work on it while enjoying conversation with other crafters. (Please, no crafts involving glue or paint.) Take advantage of the many books available at the library to get ideas for your next project or to explore a new craft. We will be meeting in person.

Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood's newest animated films – “Moana 2.” After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike anything she's ever faced. Our April book is a classic coming-of-age novel of magical realism, "Bless Me, Ultima," by Rudolfo Anaya. Ultima, a curandera, one who cures with herbs and magic, comes to Antonio Marez's New Mexico family when he is six years old, and helps him discover himself in the magical secrets of the pagan past. Copies of the book are available at the Front Desk one month prior to meeting.

Chris Connolly, RN, BSN, owner of "Living My Dream Yoga," will lead a 4-week series of meditation classes. Classes will take place from 3:30pm to 4:30pm over four consecutive Thursdays -- April 3, 10, 17 and 24 -- in the library's Meeting Room. Classes are designed for both those who are new to meditation and regular practitioners.

Tucked into ravines that reach to the Ligurian Sea, the small Italian Riviera towns of Genoa and the Cinque Terre beckon and capture the traveler. The region and each village have a distinct character of sun, sea, food, wine, hiking trails, and quiet Italy. Easily reached by train from Genoa or cities further afield, Cinque Terre is a must visit. Led by Jack Holmes, a travel photographer and owner of "Images From Near and Far" at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell. A retired high school teacher, he previously served as President of the Greater Lynn Photographic Association and Gallery Manager of the Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell.

Tribal Nations and Indigenous Communities have witnessed changes in the climate from time immemorial. However, anthropogenic climate change and the Climate Crisis -- coupled with the impacts of colonization -- pose unique challenges for Tribal Nations. Despite these challenges, Tribal Nations are leading the way in climate change adaptation planning and resilience. Discover opportunities to learn from Indigenous climate change adaptation while maintaining respect for Indigenous knowledge and Tribal sovereignty. Led by Dr. Casey Thornbrugh, who has served as a Tribal Climate Science Liaison for United South and Eastern Tribes Inc. (USET) in coordination with the Bureau of Indian Affairs Tribal Climate Resilience Branch (BIA-TCR) and the Northeast and Southeast Climate Adaptation Science Centers (NE/SE CASC). Dr. Thornbrugh, a geographer with a background in climate science, is a citizen of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.

Informal networking takes place from 9am to 9:30am and 11:30am to noon. If you are unemployed and actively looking, underemployed, seeking a new career direction, re-entering the job market after a long employment gap, or recently retired and looking for your "Encore Career," this networking group program is perfect for you! Hugo, Nebula and Locus Award-winning author Mary Robinette Kowal will discuss her new sci-fi novel, “The Martian Contingency: A Lady Astronaut Novel,” in this installment of "Author Hour in Massachusetts." Mary Robinette Kowal is the author of the Hugo, Nebula, and Locus Award-winning alternate history novel, “The Calculating Stars,” the first book in the Lady Astronaut series. She is also the author of “The Glamourist Histories” series and “Ghost Talkers” and has received the Astounding Award for Best New Writer, four Hugo Awards, the Nebula, and Locus Awards. She has also worked as a professional puppeteer, is a member of the Award-winning podcast Writing Excuses, and performs as a voice actor, recording fiction for authors including Seanan McGuire, Cory Doctorow, and Neal Stephenson.

Simon, Ph.D., a professor at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, who leads international biology-themed travel courses and teaches online lifelong learning classes at a variety of institutions.

Meet our swimming, quacking friends! This program includes a duck-themed story time, learning about duck behavior and anatomy, and a duck themed game. The highlight of the program is the Duck Circle, where youth are able to touch and interact with live ducks. This event is for children PreK - grade 3.

We'll use bubble wrap, a paper plate, and paint to make our own rain puddles. Then, we'll decorate some little rain boots and stick those on top! We'll read a story as a group while the paint dries. This event is open to children ages 2-5.

Join us for Reading Buddies! Littles in grades K-5 who are learning to read will be paired with a teen volunteer in grades 9-12. Each week, they'll practice reading to one another and then do a craft. Reading Buddies runs from March 19-April 23 and meets every Wednesday from 4:30-5:15 PM in the Children's Room. Please only register if you can attend all six weeks and are independently reading or working on independently reading. If you have any questions, please contact Emily at eleggat@tewksburypl.org.

Preschool playgroup is a weekly group where kids can meet, play, and learn. Pick up some literacy skills and have some fun while you're at it! This program is hosted by Community Teamwork Incorporated in collaboration with Tewksbury Public Library.

Join Emily for a fun session of stories, songs, fingerplays, and gentle movement that help build early literacy skills. Babies experience the sounds and structure of language through rhythm, rhyme and repetition. Baby Story Time is designed for young children ages 0 to 2 years old and their caregivers. All of our story times are interactive for children and their caregivers. Please be ready to participate and play. Don't worry, we will have a printout with all of the songs and rhymes we are using so you can follow along!

In honor of National Financial Literacy Month, we will be painting mini Piggy-Banks! We will be using paint, so be sure to wear something you won't mind getting paint on! Supplies will be provided for every registered attendee, so be sure to register below while supplies last!

Join us for Reading Buddies! Littles in grades K-5 who are learning to read will be paired with a teen volunteer in grades 9-12.
