Tewksbury Man Gets 12 Years in Prison on Sex with Child Charge

Lawrence Marks of Tewksbury was sentenced in U.S. District Court in New Hampshire for transportation of a minor.

CONCORD, NH - A local man who traveled to New Hampshire to bring a child to Massachusetts for sex has been sentenced to more than 12 years in prison in U.S. District Court on March 30, 2016.

Lawrence Marks, 35, of Tewksbury, MA, pled guilty to transportation of a minor in interstate commerce for illegal sexual activity in December 2015 and was sentenced.

The case against Marks began in November 2014 when New Hampshire State Police began investigating “possible sexual abuse of several children in Franklin,” according to U.S. District Attorney Emily Gray Rice. The investigation led to Marks after several witnesses identified him as a man who was frequently seen with one of the children. He later confessed to taking the child from New Hampshire to Massachusetts on several occasions where he had sexual activity with the girl.
